'DIGI' AWARD TIME
Finalists for the Internet Business Association International Inc. Digi Awards for advancing technology throughout Tampa Bay were announced Jan. 10 at the IBAII monthly luncheon. Winners will be recognized at a Feb. 1 awards banquet at the Wyndham Harbour Island Hotel.
And the nominees are: In the education category, Mike Kovac and Mary Prescott of the University of South Florida, and Joseph McCann, dean of the Sykes College of Business at the University of Tampa.
Venture capital firms: Communications Equity Associates LLC, Lovett Miller & Co. and Stonehenge Capital Partners Corp., all in Tampa.
Elected officials: U.S. Rep. Jim Davis, D-Fla., Tampa Mayor Dick Greco and State Rep. Bob Henriquez, D-Hills.
Information technology companies making the final cut are K.tek Inc. in Clearwater, CommerceQuest Inc. and Digiscribe Inc., both in Tampa.
Finalists in the media category include Dave Gussow and Khris Hundley of the St. Petersburg Times and Ted Jackovics of the Tampa Tribune.
